Railside Robotics, Purdue University's battlebots club is hosting a public competition where Antweight (1 lb) and Beetleweight (3 lb) Robots will fight until one bot is crowned champions.
We will be hosting this in the Purina Pavilion of the Land O' Lakes Experiential Learning Center
No age limit for spectators or competitors, and spectators are free! Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian present.
We will provide 2 chairs, 1 table, and 1 outlet per team. Please bring your own extension cord and more chairs as needed.

General Rules:
- We will be running a modified MRCA Ruleset
- 2:00 minute Antweight and Beetleweight Matches
- 5 second pins and lifts
- Limit of 2 bots per driver across weightclasses
- We will be having Antweight and Beetleweight matches in our 8' x 8' by 4' arena

Key Modifications:
- Weapon locking pins may not be a common tool (e.g. Allen Wrench, Clamp, Screwdriver) unless they have a bright and easily visible tag attached to them. Clarify with the event organizer if you have questions
- 50% Weight Bonus for Shufflers and Almost Walking and 100% Weight Bonus for Walking for Antweight and Beetleweight Robots
- 300 mph tip speed limit. Electronic limiting is appropriate to meet this requirement. Please reach out to the Event Organizer (rlsdrbts@purdue.edu) for approval of your bot if you exceed this.
- Heat based weapons are not allowed
- Should the battery of a robot become uncontained/visibly exposed up to the judgement of the referee and event organizer, the match will be halted and the robot with the uncontained battery will lose by knockout. If both robots have an uncontained battery, the match will go to a judges’ decision.
- 1 unstick attempt per team per match
Tournament Procedures:

Advancement Format: “2 wins / 2 losses” system

2–0: Advance early to Single Elimination (skip Round 3)

0–2: Eliminated from bracket contention (skip Round 3)

1–1: Compete in Round 3 to determine advancement

This allows faster advancement, fewer unnecessary matches, and gets eliminated teams back into action sooner.
Non-refundable entrance fees once registration is available will be as follows and can be paid using these instructions for those officially registered:
- $25 for Antweights
- $30 for Beetleweights

Trophies will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as Most Destructive and Most Innovative in each weight class.

8:00 - 9:00 AM: Check-in and safeties
9:00 - 9:15 AM: Mandatory driver's meeting
9:15 - 11:00 AM: Round 1 of Swiss Group Stage Matches
11:00 - 12:00 PM: Rough Lunch Break Timing
12:00 - 3:00 PM: Round 2 and 3 of Swiss Group Stage Matches
3:00 - 6:00 PM: Finals Bracket Matches
