Join us in the combat robotics competition hosted by Rice University! Bring your Plastic Antweight, Antweight, and Beetleweight robots to compete in our 8x8 ft arena. Contact us at riceroboticsclub@gmail.com for any questions.

Event Info:

• Location: Brockman Hall for Physics, BRK 101
• Classes:
  • Plastic Ant
  • Full Combat Ant
  • Beetle
• Registration is $15 per PLAnt and Antweight. $20 per Beetle. This fee includes pizza and a drink.
• Arena is 8x8 with wood kick plates and wood floors.
• Pits: Good amount of space. 1 table + 2 chairs per team
• Power is available, bring extension cords, power strips, lipo bags etc.
• Bring your own power tools but use them outside in a specified location.
• The event will be on Rice University Campus.
• Pre-Event email will have more specific instructions.

Schedule:

• Saturday November 14th
  • Doors open 9:00AM
  • Safety/Weigh In: 9:30AM
  • Fights start at 11AM and run thru about 4PM. There will be a 1 hour break for lunch around 1PM.

Rules:

• SPARC ruleset.
• Plastic Ant Specs:  Traditional SPARC Rules. No nylons, tpu or metal etc.
• Exposed batteries are automatic forfeits
• One unstick per fight (if you become unintentionally stuck in the arena).
  • Beware: forks get stuck in the arena walls
• One disentanglements per instigating bot per fight.
• Tapouts are allowed
• Match length: 2 minutes.
• Robots get minimum 15 minutes between matches for repairs.
  • Robots not ready in time will be forced to forfeit.
• Bracket format double elimination.
• Most Important Rule - HAVE FUN!
