Returning for its second year at Olympia High School!


The event will be in the school's Commons, please park on the Carlyon side of campus. The North St entrance will be locked.

  • 0900     Registration & Pits Open
  • 0945     Safety/Driver Meeting
  • 1000     First Match.

 

Event Details:

  • Arenas
    • Ant Weight will be using the 5'x7' WAR arena with a pit
    • Plast Ants will be using the school's 4'x4'x2' areaa. It has a steel floor, and 1/4" polycarbonate walls.
  • The $10 suggested team registration fee will directly support OlyRobots: Combat Division, the school's Combat Robot team. You can also bring in a new electronic toy for our team's next adapt-a-thon event. (see details below)
  • Our event will be following the SPARC ruleset, which can be found here: https://clubs.oregonstate.edu/combat-robotics/sparc 
    • We will be testing the following rule in the antweight class: Each driver will have one chance to unpit their robot in the first minute. Once in the pit the countdown will begin, if it ends before 1:10 on match timer, both robots will be returned to their starting squares and match will be resumed.
  • Teams will be allowed to register 1 robot in each class to start with, you may register more robots, but they will be waitlisted.
  • Top robot in each class will be presented with a 3" pewter medallion & Fingertech Gift Certificate
  • Our 3D Design & Fabrication class and Maker's Guild finally have theelctromechanical jousting simulator working, come try your hand jousting.
  • We will have pizza lunch and concessions available Pizza lunch is $5 cash for two slices of pizza and a drink.
  • We will have event shirts available for $15.

Adapt-a-thon:

OlyRobots along with North Thurston High School Robotics Teams host yearly Adapt-a-thons where families and service providers bring in toys to be switch adapted so they can more easily be used by kids with disabilities. Toy donations will be adapted and given to a family or to a school district Occupational Therapist.
