Crimson Carnage: High-Class Robot Fighting

Ladies and Gentlemen, Esteemed Guests, and Connoisseurs of Mechanical Mayhem! Welcome to the Crimson Carnage, where the elegance of high-class meets the chaos of combat! Prepare to be dazzled by sparks that dance like stars, witness the symphony of clashing weapons, and behold the spectacle as robots engage in a waltz of destruction. 

Location:  This event is indoors, and it will take place in the Oklahoma Memorial Union, on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.  

Time:  Doors will open at 6am for builders to come in, set up, and do safety. Builders must show up to the builders meeting at 9:30am otherwise you are late! The event starts at 10am and goes to 7pm. Teardown will take place after the competition is over.

Facilities:  Tables and chairs are provided by the venue.  Bathrooms are onsite. Bring your own power strips and extension cords, there will be plenty of outlets but they may be spread out.

Arena:  The arena is 8 ft x 8 ft x 4 ft tall with a wooden floor set on top of saw horses.  There is a seam in the middle of the floor, but we do our best to minimize it.

Robots:  Robots must meet the SPARC Robot Construction Specifications.  A LiPo charging bag must be used when charging your batteries.  Weapon locks and sharp edge covers must be used while the bot is outside of the arena.

Weight Classes: Ant (1 pound), Plastic-Ant (1 pound), and Beetle (3 pound).  If you have a Fairy (150 gram) you are more than welcome to bring it for grudge matches.  During any down time, we will hold grudge matches and rumbles for those that are interested.

Note: Each DRIVER is only allowed to DRIVE 3 ROBOTS in total across any weightclass. You're welcome to have more than one robot compete in a weightclass but keep in mind that repair times may be constrained.

Format: The format depends on the number of entrances in each weight class. If the number of entrances in a weight class reaches 8 or more robots, its bracket will be double elimination. Each match will run for 2 minutes. I will send out a ‘Run of Show’ prior to the event that will outline the finalized tournament format.

Fees: This event is free to spectate.  The registration for the tournament is $20 per bot (Plastic-Ants are $10 per bot). Fees will be handled at the event.

Prizes:  Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each weight class.  Winners' pogs will be given out for each match victory.
