Southeast Michigan Robot Kerfuffle (SMIRK)

Southeast Michigan Robot Kerfuffle (SMIRK) will be the inaugural Michigan combat robot competition hosted by Robot Smashing League. We will be in the Crossroads Community Church in Ottawa Lake, MI. We will have both 1 lb (antweight) and 3 lb (beetleweight) robots going head-to-head in an enclosed 8’ x 8’ arena.

The tournament format for both antweight and beetleweight classes will be a modified Swiss tournament with 4 rounds ending with a single elimination bracket for the top 4 robots.

Sign Ups: There are open spots for 32 antweight (1 lbs) bots and 16 beetleweight (3 lbs) bots, with a limit of 2 antweight bots and 1 beetleweight bot per driver.

Registration opens April 25th at 10AM EDT.

Location: Crossroads Community Church [6960 Sylvania Petersburg Rd. Ottawa Lake, MI 49267] 

Venue: Has plenty of space for pits (tables & chairs are provided), but please bring an extension cord. Additional TVs will be set up to view the fights.

Arena: 8’ x 8’, wood floor

Rough Schedule:

• 9:00am – Doors Open for Competitors

• 9:30am - Safety Opens

• 11:00am – Doors Open for Spectators

• 4:00pm – Final 4 - Single Elimination Starts

Entry Fee: $30 per bot

Ruleset: This event will follow MRCA rules

Spectators: Spectators are welcome and free to attend and doors open at 11am.
