With rounds lasting up to 2 minutes or until one robot is disabled, the excitement is palpable as makers showcase their engineering prowess. Beyond the battles, Maker Battle is an event that bolsters Hartford's community spirit.

What is Maker Battle?
While this event is a competition, it also represents an opportunity to bring the community together! MakerspaceCT is where people and projects thrive, and we hope to partner with our sponsors and supporters to continue to provide this resource to Connecticut and beyond. Maker Battle 2024 will help us continue to provide equipment, community, and education

The first 16 spots are reserved for youth starting May 21, 2024 at noon through June 11th, 12 noon. After this time, all unfilled remaining spots in either category will be available to any interested team.
Who is a youth competitor?
The youth member must be 17 years of age, or younger.
All youth participants must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Upon registration, you will be asked to confirm the name and age of the youth competitor.
Registration Details:
A cap of 32 bots for this event.
There is a limit of 1 bot registration per unique bot driver.
Teams can contain multiple robots, provided that each robot has a unique driver.
Youth are guaranteed the first 16 bot registrations until June 11th at 12 noon.
BOT registration fee:
FREE -- Thanks to the sponsorship provided via NHRL, we can offer free registration for all bots. Thank you NHRL!
Each unique bot driver is limited to one bot. (no single driver may register more than 1 bot for this event).
Spectator fee:
Adult $5
5yrs or younger free (must be accompanied by an adult)
The Maker Battle Arena
Size: 8' x 8' x 8'
Floor: 3/4" plywood coated with paint
Kickplates: 6” inch tall wood
Windows: Dual pane - 1/4" polycarbonate
1lb Weight Class - Safety & Physical Rules*
Safety
All robots must have a weapon lock that prevents any spinning weapons from moving outside of the cage.
All robots must have a way to turn off power without disassembling the robot.
All robots must pass a radio fail safe test.
Weight
1.0lbs in a fight ready condition. All robots will be weighed prior to their first match.
There is a .5 lb weight bonus for robots that do not use wheels or tracks for motion
Size
No restrictions on size, but must fit through a 36” door and into the cage.
Electrical
Robots must use electrical systems that operate at or less than 25.2 volts - max 6s
Weapons
Active weapons are not required, but are encouraged!
Projectiles are allowed, however - please email us details, a photo, and projectile speed must be below 100mph. Send emails to info@makerspacect.com.

Nets
Flame throwers
Liquids of any kind
Weapons that purposefully disrupt radio signals
Strobe Lights
Lasers
