WAR on the Skyline

WAR is returning to Portland, in a new location with more room for bots! Join us August 24th for a full day of insectweight fights.

Schedule:

• 9am, doors open for setup. we'd love some help with the arena if you can come this early!
• 11am, registration closes, builder's meeting, fights begin
• We will try to have a break around 1:30pm, bracket pacing permitting
• 6pm, fights end at latest

Rules

• We will be running a modified double elimination (single final) bracket for Plastic ants, Antweights, and Beetleweights all in our 8x8ft arena with steel floors and a lipped pit.
• Additionally, we will have a queue for fights. Your bot will be asked to join the queue and you to be ready in advance of your next fight, but don't worry! this means you still have 20 minutes if necessary, just let us know. after that, you may still request an extension, we will generally guarantee one 20-minute extension per event but can be more lenient if bracket pacing is on time.

What to bring:

• Water! It will be warm.
• Protective table mat, if you plan to grind or solder.
• A way to record your fights! unfortunately, we are unlikely to be able to stream, with no wifi and poor cell on location.

We have a suggested donation of $25 per bot to help cover our costs. WAR events are free for builders but we do have event, storage, and arena upkeep expenses. All of the money we collect goes to the Seattle Robotics Society which is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. Please donate if you can but donating is not a requirement to compete.
