Battles at Houston Maker Faire

For the second year, we will offer combat robot fights at the Houston Maker Faire. This year, we will have 150 gram, 1 lb, and 3 lb combat robot tournaments on Saturday, and a 30 lb round robin platform tournament on Sunday. Saturday: Standard combat robot double elimination tournament in our new 8x8 arena. Round robin may be used in classes with few competitors. SPARC Rules will be followed for the robots with judging likely being three judges with each voting on who they consider to have won. Please be ready to fight at 11 AM.  Sunday:

30lb platform combat robot fighting in a round robin tournament structure. Matches will be best two out of three. Robot rules are to follow http://www.robotbattles.com/rules.htm. This is essentially weaponized sumo without weapons that pose a risk to the audience in an open air environment. Please be ready to fight at noon.

To apply, please sign up at: http://houston.makerfaire.com/call-for-makers/apply/ as a performer. There will be a $50 deposit required as a performer/exhibitor of the Maker Faire, but this gives you tickets to the event for both days. The deposit is returned in the form of a check when you arrive on Saturday. We would appreciate set up help on Friday beforehand. You can also get through safety then too probably later in the evening.
