Southern Iowa Smashup

The first ever Burritobotics hosted event, come on down to the Southern Iowa Smashup. This is just a freindly meetup, letting everyone get their bots dialed in before the MRCA season ramps up. Additionally, this is a trial run for hosting events, if there's enough people willing to drive down, the goal is to start hosting ranked events. So if you want more future events, show up to this one!

Date: Saturday, Feburary, 2025 10:00AM-4:00PM

Location: 210 N Iowa St, Knoxville, IA 50138. We'll be in the gym, in the double doors straight through the main (east) entrance. There is a ramp down onto the floor to make transportation of robot carts a breeze.

Arena: 4x4x2 Box, one polycarbonate side, 3 plywood sides, with 2x6 kickplates. Floor is painted plywood. It can hold antweight fights, and will contain beetle spinups (not fights though).

Schedule: Show up at 10, bring complete or non-complete robots, and find people to fight or help you fix your bot! If there's enough interest we can run a small bracket for ants/plants, otherwise feel free to grudge match to your hearts content.

Entry fee: $15 per person, no matter how many bots you bring, or bring no bots for free and just chill with us

Ruleset: MRCA 2025 rules, though if you show up with a weight bonus bot legal in 2024 I won't tell anyone

Spectating: Of course! Free to show up, bring your own snacks, and we'll try to have a video feed going.

Bracket: TBD, if enough people want we can run some form of tournament
