Richmond Area Bot Instigated Destruction is pleased to announce our next event: Winter Wreckage
We are adding a 4x4 arena for fairies this event! All antweights will run in our 6x6 and fairies in the 4x4.
Spectators: The event is free to spectators and no tickets are required! Robot matches will begin around 11AM. Matches typically go till 6pm, but the most action happens at the beginning because there are more back to back matches.
Pits will be inside, but you may need to bring your own extension cords, and power strips. Please use a lipo bag while charging. We will be posting updates on our discord server, feel free to join us: https://discord.gg/H5wQnJXAVh
If you know anyone who would like to volunteer at our events please have them email us or reach out on discord! We are a 501(c)(3) organization and are willing to sign off for volunteer hours.
**UPDATE**
Due to safety concerns, if you partially breach ( get stuck in) or fully breach ( get stuck in and/or puncture through) the Polycarbonate, your robot will be DQ'd from the event for the day, as a breach may cause the event to shut down entirely. Please limit tip speed, or limit rake angle on your weapons to help us keep our event running smoothly!
A Huge thanks to our sponsors that make this event possible!

Rules:
We will follow modified Sparc rulesets for both classes.
Approved materials for plastic ants are printed PET, PETG, ABS, ASA, PLA, PLA+, and TPU.
-Motors,wheels, fasteners, and electronics do not need to be printed, but must not be a significant structural part of the bot.
-Any non printed parts should not be exposed in a way that they can be hit, or hit another bot. The bot should be as much 3d printed as possible.
No heat, fire, smoke, entanglement, or other weapons that do not fit the spirit of the rules.
Shufflers will get a 1.25x bonus (568g ant and plant, 188g fairy)
Non-traditional locomotion will get 1.5x weight bonus. Ex. Gyro Walkers/Bristle Bots (681g ant and plant, 225g fairy)
True walkers using no continuous rotational movement for locomotion (this includes things like vibration motors) will get a full weight bonus (908g ant and plant, 300g fairy)
Batteries should be protected at all times. If a battery becomes exposed during the fight, the match is over. The bot with the exposed battery loses. Take care when charging batteries and charge them in lipo bags.
Bots will be given at least 20 minutes minutes between fights for repairs. Later in the day we may need to be strict on this time, so please work with us.
There will only be 1 attempt at an unstick and only if both bots are stuck. If they cannot be unstuck or get stuck again, the match will go to the judges.
If you have any rules questions please contact us BEFORE the event.
Format:
Double elimination
2:30 minute matches
Judges will score on a 5-5-5 point system
If you have any questions feel free to email us at rabidrva@gmail.com
