Mayhem at MRRF

Spicy Disaster Robotics in conjunction with Broken Gears Robotics will be hosting a 2 day event during the Midwest Rep Rap Festival (MRRF)

Tournament Format: 

Day One: Group Stage where 3-1 and better records move into Single Elimination

Day Two: Round Robin

Sign Ups: 

Day One: There are open spots for 16 plastic antweights (1 lbs),  32 antweight (1 lbs) bots full combat antweights will be MRCA ranked

Day Two:  There are open spots for 16 Sportsman Beetleweights (3 lb) for 32 plastic antweights (1 lbs) competing in teams of 2 (16 total teams)

Note:  Teams registering for 2v2 with two entries will compete together, teams registering one entry will be paired randomly before the event.

Date: June 21-22, 2025 

Location: Elkhart County Fairgrounds, 17746 County Road 34, Goshen, IN 46528

Venue: Has plenty of space for pits (tables & chairs are provided), competitors will need to provide extension cords, tri-taps, and power strips.

Food: Food trucks will be on site during MRRF, you are welcome to bring a cooler as well.

Arena: 8x8x2 plywood floors

Rough Schedule:

• 8:00am – Doors Open & Safety Opens
• 10:00am – Opening Round fights begin
• 4:00pm - Single Elimination Starts

Day One: $10 per plastic ant, $25 per bot for Full combat ants

Day Two:  $10 per entry for Sportsman Beetles. $10 per robot ($20 per team) for 2v2 Plastic Antweights (Plastic Ant Fee is waived for day one competitors)

Ruleset: This event will follow MRCA rules for ants. For Plastic Ants the SPARC construction rules will apply. Sportsman Beetles will use MRCA rules with the addition of SPARC sportsman rules.

     Plastic Ants must adhere to section 16.3 regarding allowed construction materials

     Sportsman Beetleweights are limited to the the weapon types allowed in SPARC section 16.1, High mass or High MOI spinning weapons are not allowed.

Spectators: Spectators are welcome and free to attend and doors open at 10am.  MRRF is one of the largest gatherings of 3d printing enthuasists and there will be vendors, displays, and other events during the weekend as well.
