Circle City Clash hosted by RSL & Outside Of The Box

RSL in conjunction with Outside Of The Box will be hosting a MRCA qualifying combat robot competition at POPcon in Indianapolis, IN. The competition will include 1 lb (plastic antweight) on Friday and a 3 lb (beetleweight) weight competition on Saturday.

Tournament Format: Group Stage where 3-1 and better records move into Single Elimination

Sign Ups: There are open spots for 32 plastic antweights (1 lbs) and 48 beetleweight (3 lbs) bots.

Dates: June 27 and 28, 2025

Location: Indiana Convention Center 100 S Capitol Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225

Venue: Has plenty of space for pits (tables & chairs are provided). There will be a couple of TVs to view the fights.

Prizes:

• First Place: $50 gift card to Robot Smashing League’s Store
• Second Place: $25 gift card to Robot Smashing League’s Store
• Third Place: $10 gift card to Robot Smashing League’s Store
• Best Themed Bot: $50 gift card to Robot Smashing League’s Store
  • Awarded to the bot with the most distinct and creatively executed theme. Judges will consider both the design of the robot and how well the driver’s attire complements and enhances the overall theme.

Food: Food is available onsite.

  • 5:00pm - Single Elimination Starts
• Saturday, June 28th Beetle Competition
  • 8:00am – Doors Open & Safety Opens
  • 10:00am – Doors Open for Spectators and fights begin
  • 5:00pm - Single Elimination Starts
• Sunday, June 29th Exhibition Matches
  • Feel free to come out at 10:00am - 5:00pm on Sunday for some extra fights.

Entry Fee: $30 per plastic ant and $35 per beetle weight bot

Ruleset: This event will follow MRCA rules.  Note: there are no weight bonuses. To promote dynamic, engaging, and competitive matches, all robots are required to have an active weapon. Passive designs (e.g., wedges or bricks without a weapon mechanism) are not permitted. If you have a question about whether your design qualifies, please contact the event organizer ahead of time for clarification or approval.

Spectators:  POPcon admission is required for spectators, doors open at 10am. You can purchase tickets here.
