ENTRY INFORMATION
- Registration Fee: $20 per robot (to pay for the venue)
- Spectator Admission: FREE
- Team Size: No maximum team size, maximum 2 team members in the control area during matches
- Facilities: Tables and chairs provided for all teams
- Power: Please bring your own extension cables for charging and tools
WEIGHT CLASSES & PARTICIPANTS
Following official SPARC (Standardized Procedures for the Advancement of Robot Combat) v1.5 rules:
Full Combat Antweight Class (8 spots):
- 1lb (454g) maximum weight for wheeled robots
- 1.25lbs (567g) for shufflers
- 1.5lbs (680g) for non-traditional locomotion, such as bristle drive
- 2.0lbs (907g) for true walking robots
- Additional 0.25lb (113.5g) autonomous bonus available
Plastic Antweight Class (16 spots):
- Same weight limitations as described above
- Structural components must be ABS, ASA, PLA, PLA+, or PETG only
- No composite/blended materials (like Carbon Fiber PLA or Glass-Filled ABS)
- Non-plastic parts (motors, electronics, axles, fasteners, adhesives) cannot enhance structural integrity, armor, or weapons
- Foam, rubber, silicone, urethane, and TPU are allowed for wheels and electronics padding
- Waitlist available if classes fill up
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Full Combat Antweight Class:
- Double Elimination Bracket: Each robot gets at least two matches
Plastic Antweight Class:
- Swiss Tournament: 3 rounds where robots are paired based on similar records
- Top 8 robots advance to single elimination finals
- Match rankings determined by:
- Number of wins
- Quality of opponents faced (strength of schedule)
For All Classes:
- Match Duration: 3 minutes per match
- Judging Criteria (if no knockout):
- Aggression (33%)
- Control (33%)
- Damage (33%)
- Knockout Conditions: Immobilization for 10 seconds (no controllable movement), or tapping out
ARENA SPECIFICATIONS
- Hexagonal arena with 3ft wide sides and 3ft tall walls
- Plywood floor painted with grip texture
- Fully enclosed 6mm polycarbonate surrounding the arena
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
All robots must comply with SPARC safety guidelines:
- Power switch/removable link required
- LED light required to indicate when robot is powered on
- Weapons must have clearly visible locking devices when outside the arena
- All robots must pass safety and weight inspection before competing
