Robot Royale 6

Welcome to the sixth Robot Royale; this event is being run as a collaboration between UNSW CREATE, Wollongong Robot Combat, and UTS Mechsoc!

Supporting Convoy for Kids, the event will run as usual but at a different venue. https://www.convoyforkids.com.au. The event will start earlier, but otherwise run as usual.

Leagues: Robot Royale has two 150g antweight leagues. Each robot may only compete in one league. You may enter as many robots as you wish in each league. See rules for extra information.

• 150g Plastic Ant League (destructive) - material restrictions apply.

Arena: The arena is a 1200x1200x600mm polycarbonate arena with a corner pit and arena out in the corner.

Venue: We will have plenty of space with pit tables, power outlets, various food stands and toiletries. It is recommended to bring ample water as the weather warms up.

Schedule

• Saturday, October 25th, 2025: (Optional makerspace build day) (BUILD DAY UNCONFIRMED) 
  • If you want to access the UNSW makerspace to finish of your bots and conduct last minute tests safely in the arena, this is the day! 10am - 5pm!
• Sunday, October 26th, 2025: (Tournament day!)
  • 7:00 - Venue open
  • 7:00 - 8:00 - Robot safety checks
  • 8:00 - 12:30 (est) - Round robin matches. A break will occur when all the trucks roll in as they are rather loud.
  • 12:30 - 13:00 (est) - Lunch Break
  • 13:00 - 16:00 (est) - Single elimination tournament

• Key rules for safety include:
  • Must have a switch to turn off power without dissasembling the robot.
  • A visible power LED.
  • Your battery must be covered
  • Must pass a radio failsafe test
  • Must have a weapon lock that prevents any spinning weapons from moving while outside the arena.
