WPI Mixed Open

 

WPI is hosting our inaugural Open event! 

 

Weight Classes:

• Beetleweight (3lb)
• Plastic Antweight (1lb)

Registration Fees: $25 per beetle, $10 per PLAnt

Registration Limits:

• 32 Beetleweights
  • 8 Spots are Reserved for WPI Club Members
• 32 PLAnts
  • 10 Spots are Reserved for WPI Club Members
• Remaining Spots are first come first serve

Please limit builder registration to one robot per weight class.

Drivers or Pit Crew members under 18 years of age will be required to be accompanied by an adult and sign a waiver upon arrival.

Schedule:

• 8:00am - Doors Open
• 8:30am - Safety Begins
• 9:45am - Drivers Meeting
• 10:00am - Competition Begins
• 12:00pm - Lunch Break
• 1:00pm - Matches Resume
• ~8:00pm - Finals, Awards, Pack Up 

What to Bring:

• Extension cords and power strips
• Eye and Ear protection
• Any tools and materials you need to fix your robot
• Your robots

The event is for all ages. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Rulesets:

Active weapon required. 

There will be no DUMMY or movement tests - honor system.

Tournament Format:

• 3 Round Qualifiers:
  • Random NHRL Style Qualifiers 
• Single Elimination Bracket:
  • Robots with 2 wins automatically advance to Bracket
  • Seeding will be determined randomly
