Circle City Clash at POPcon

Outside Of The Box podcast and Spicy Disaster Robotics will be hosting a MRCA qualifying combat robot competition at POPcon in Indianapolis, IN. The event will include 1 lb (plastic antweight) 1 lb (antweight) and 3 lb (beetleweight) competitions on Saturday May 9th, 2026.

Tournament Format: 3 round Modified Swiss, bots with 2-1 or better records will progress to a single elimination bracket to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Sign Ups: There are open spots for 16 plastic antweight (1 lb), 24 antweights (1 lb) and 24 beetleweight (3 lb) bots.

Date: May 9th, 2026

Location: Indiana Convention Center Wabash ballroom, 100 S Capitol Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225

Venue: Has plenty of space for pits (tables & chairs are provided). There will be a couple of TVs to view the fights.

Rough Schedule:

• 8:00am – Doors Open & Safety Opens
• 10:00am – Doors Open for Spectators and fights begin
• 5:00pm - Single Elimination Starts

Entry Fee: $25 per plastic ant, $30 per antweight and $35 per beetleweight entry.

Ruleset: This event will follow MRCA rules

Spectators:  POPcon admission is required for spectators, doors open at 10am. You can purchase tickets here.
