Hunter Combat Robotics: Round 2

Join us in our second round of combat robotics in the Newcastle-Hunter Region!

Classes: HCR runs two 150g antweight classes. A robot may only compete in one league. You may enter as many robots as your wish in each league. 

• 150g Plastic Ant League (destructive) - material restrictions apply. 
• 150g Open League (destructive)

Arena: The arena is a 1200x1200x600mm polycarbonate arena with a corner pit. Arena floor is made from MDF and is reasonably fresh with a few chips here and there. 

Registration: Free!

Venue: We will have plenty of table spaces in the pits, as well as power outlets and access to basic tools in the Fablab. Note: Event may be live streamed and videos/photos may be taken.

Schedule: Schedule may change as the day progresses. Ideally it will be: 

• 8am - Doors Open
• 8am to 9am - Scrutineering and Safety Checks
• 9am to 12:30pm - Round Robin Matches
• 12:30pm to 6pm - Single Elimination tornament

Rules: You can find our ruleset here. There are some key rules that will be checked in scrutineering/safety checks:

• Bots must have a switch to turn off power without disssasembling the robot.
• Bots must have a visible power LED.
• Any batteries must be covered and not be visible (even when a lifter raises its weapon).
• Bots must pass a radio failsafe test (the bot will stop moving when radio is off).
• You must have a weapon lock that prevents any spinning weapons from moving while outuside the arena.
