Spring Skirmish '26

Registration Closed

Hosted by DAM Robotics club and open to the public, Spring Skirmish '26 is Oregon State University's final robot combat competition of this academic year! Oregon State Combat Robotics (OSCR) is a branch of DAM Robotics club, where members learn combat robotics through a basic curriculum and hands-on design by developing their own Plastic Antweight robots. Now is the last time to test ourselves against others in the Combat Robotics community before summer break!

Spring Skirmish '26 will take place on Saturday, June 6th in Oregon State University's Kelley Engineering Center atrium with doors opening at 8:30 am and fights starting around 10:00 am.

Exact schedule is subject to change, though it will look pretty close to this:

8:30am - 10:00am Safety
10:00am - 10:15am Driver's Meeting
10:15am - ~1:30pm Fights!
1:30pm - 2:00pm Lunch (or repair time for some)
2:00pm - 6:00pm Rest of the fights!

Our arena is 6 feet x 6 feet wide and 3 feet tall. The floor is steel with steel kickplates. The floor is painted for grip, though there is not added grip compound. In one corner is a 1 foot square pit which is always open and has a 1 inch tall lip around it. This arena can safely contain beetleweight robots and weight bonuses are allowed following the newly revised SPARC Rules (1.6)https://osurobotics.club/teams/combat/sparc/

The arena also features our built-in-house and newly upgraded ready/tapout referee system! Each competitor will have access to a green button for readying up and a red button for tapping out. This system will be explained in more detail during the drivers meeting.

At this event we will offer:

  • Full combat antweight
  • Fairyweight
  • Beetleweight
  • Plastic antweight

This tournament, in all weight classes, will be modified double-elimination style with first bracket match winners moving on and losers moving into the second bracket. Losing in the second bracket will knock a bot out of the competition. The winner of the first bracket and the winner of the second bracket will meet in the finals which will be single elimination. If a weightclass has 5 or less bots we will run a round robin bracket instead.

special thank you goes out to our event sponsors, The RoboDomeRepeat Robotics, ItGresa Robotics, and FingerTech Robotics for providing prizes for our winners!

For all weight classes:
First place - $50 in stickers from The Robodome, $35 gift certificate from ItGresa Robotics
Second place - $30 in stickers from The Robodome, $25 gift certificate from ItGresa Robotics
Third place - $20 in stickers from The RoboDome, $15 gift certificate from ItGresa Robotics

For Plastic Antweight & Beetleweight classes:
First place - 1st place medal and $60 gift certificate from Repeat Robotics
Second place - 2nd place medal and $40 gift certificate from Repeat Robotics
Third place - 3rd place medal and $20 gift certificate from Repeat Robotics

A special prize for our Beetleweight winner:
Since the beetle bracket is getting pretty crazy, The RoboDome will throw in a pair of their pilot production EC 1806 gearmotors and titanium mounting plates for the winner of the beetle bracket just to make it more exciting!

Finally, club funding is down this year, even more than last year, so to ensure we can continue hosting competitions while also running our club we will have a $10/bot fee. We will be accepting payments on RCE and in-person. We are also grateful for any charitable donations, the club costs a lot to run so if you're able we'd really appreciate this.
