Buckeye Bot Bash 2

We are hosting a MRCA qualifying combat robot competition in Bellefontaine, Ohio. The competition will include 1 lb (antweight) and 3 lb (beetleweight) weight classes going head-to-head in an enclosed 8’ x 8’ arena.

Tournament Format: Modified Swiss. Group Stage where 2-1 and better records move into Single Elimination

Sign Ups: There are open spots for 24 antweight (1 lbs) bots and 24 beetleweight (3 lbs) bots. Two robots per driver (across weight classes). Sign up starts June 26 at 10am EST

Date: August 29, 2026

Location: Bellefontaine High School - 555 E Lake Ave, Bellefontaine, OH 43311

Venue: Has plenty of space for pits (tables & chairs are provided). There will be TVs to watch the fights and view the brackets. Please bring an extension cord. 

Antweight & Beetleweight Prizes: TBA

Food: There will be a full concession stand run by the Bellefontaine VEX team. Please support them! There are also many restaurants nearby. 

Arena: 8’ x 8’, plywood floor

Rough Schedule:

• 8:00am – Doors Open & Safety Opens
• 10:00am – Doors Open for Spectators and fights begin
• 5:00pm - Single Elimination Starts

Entry Fee: $30 per bot. Payable via PayPal or Venmo (@emilyebaum), or cash at the event. You are free to pre-pay. If you need to pay another way, please email. 

Ruleset: This event will follow MRCA rules

Spectators: Spectators are welcome and free to attend and doors open at 10am.
