Combat Robots Showdown - PDX Round 1

Welcome to PDX Round 1, hosted by Rose City Bot Brigade! We are excited to bring competitors and spectators together for a full day of robot combat in Portland - builders of all skill levels are welcome.

Weight Classes And Capacity

Class capacity may be adjusted if demand is high.

Format And Rules

This event uses a modified double elimination format, with round robin as a fallback format where needed. Matches follow the SPARC ruleset: https://sparc.tools/.

Arena And Safety

The arena is 4x4 with a wood floor and no dedicated arena hazards listed for this event.

All robots must pass safety before competing, including weight check, failsafe verification, and controlled movement checks.

Battery policy: always charge batteries in a LiPo bag in the designated area. Loaner bags will be available, but bring your own charger.

Please use eye protection when operating rotary tools and similar pit hazards.

Builder registration is free for this event ($0.00 per bot). Registration is enabled and open through event start.

Venue Logistics

Venue address: 2130 SW 5th Ave, Portland, OR 97201

There is metered parking along 5th Ave and Grant St. There is also an unloading-only zone on 5th Ave for quick load-in and offload.

Entry is through the door marked "2118," which should be open on or before 9:00 AM.
