My first robot is a rather innovative construction. The drive motors are mounted outside the robot and can be taken apart, allowing gears and the plastic outer casings to be changed in case of damage. The TX/RX system is based on Arduino and uses the nRF24L01 module for communication. This module functions in the 2.4gHz spectrum and the address can be changed in software to prevent interference. Because the receiver can be programmed, certain parameters about the bot can be changed such as the weapon's speed limit, the drive motor speed limit, the way the system is mixed, etc. The weapon is a plastic flywheel driven by a 2750KV brushless motor. It is normally speed limited to roughly 18% maximum speed to prevent wires from melting and to keep the weapon's bite. However this limit can be changed. Flash Memory has one main flywheel it uses but there are some others. The flywheel is a two-toothed weapon which sits around the weapon motor allowing it to strike lower than most other horizontal spinner weapons and even some undercutters.

Strengths: Fast weapon, versatility, cheap parts, easy to drive, hits low, relatively safe (for a horizontal), bolted-on wheels, top and bottom weapon motor support.

Won't fix: Slow drive, weak motor mounting, high ground clearance in the back, large exposed wheels, potentially weak base.

This robot is RETIRED and has been replaced with Flash Memory MK2.
